What is a chandelier? |
| |
Chandelier is a term that gets thrown around a lot, but it does specifically refer to a hanging light fitting which is attached to the ceiling and has the lights fitted to branches. With modern designs the branches are often less obvious, disguised by crystal or decorative features. Most chandeliers require a large room with a high ceiling so as not to look out of place, but with contemporary designs there are chandeliers that would not be out of place in any room.

| What different types of chandelier are available? |
|
 |
| Chandeliers have been growing in complexity since the 15th century and today there are chandeliers available that follow a wide range of styles from the baroque to the ulta-modern. Unlike traditional chandeliers, modern examples follow a far wider range of styles as there is no need to fit candles. Electrical lighting means that getting the most illumination from the chandelier possible isn't necessary and being able to scrape off the huge lumps of wax and replace the candles isn't an issue. |

So what can John Hill Lighting do? |
| |
Here at John Hill Lighting our range of chandeliers covers everything from the most contemporary design to examples that wouldn't look out of place in an 18th century neo-classical manor house. If you are looking for the perfect focus point for a room, you can choose between the clean, crisp lines of a modern wrought-iron, Italian styled piece, or a more classic design like the elaborate gold finish chandelier with dozens of cut crystal drops, sending reflections and refractions of light all around a room. If you prefer lots of crystal for the brilliant light they give, but want something modern, we stock chandeliers with masses of crystal held in chrome. |
